UC Stars Dancers Attend College Dance Clinics | Cookeville, TN

At UC Stars Dance, we believe preparing dancers for their future means giving them opportunities to train, learn, and experience what it takes to pursue dance beyond the studio. This summer, several of our Competition Company dancers took that commitment to the next level by attending college dance clinics and intensives across the country.

From collegiate dance team clinics to intensive training experiences, our dancers spent their summer learning from college coaches, collegiate dancers, and industry professionals while gaining valuable insight into what it takes to succeed as a college dancer.

We couldn't be more proud of their dedication to their training and their future!

Training at the University of Tennessee

Competition Company dancer Paisley Nester attended the University of Tennessee Dance Team Clinic in Knoxville, Tennessee.

College dance team clinics provide high school dancers with an incredible opportunity to experience collegiate-level training while learning more about the expectations of a university dance team. These experiences allow dancers to challenge themselves, learn new styles and skills, and begin understanding what the college dance team audition process can look like.

For dancers who hope to continue dancing in college, attending university dance clinics can be an important step toward understanding what coaches are looking for and building the skills necessary to compete at the collegiate level.

University of Memphis Dance Clinic

Several UC Stars Competition Company dancers also traveled to Memphis to attend the University of Memphis Dance Clinic.

Dancers who attended included:

  • Elle Lisic

  • Paisley Nester

  • Eloise Burgin

  • Kaleesta Lowery

  • Layla Buckner

  • Audrey Hibbard

Experiences like these go far beyond learning choreography. They help dancers develop confidence, adaptability, performance quality, technical skills, and the ability to learn quickly — all essential qualities for dancers pursuing college dance teams.

Varsity Spirit College Combine

Seven of our Competition Company dancers attended the Varsity Spirit College Combine, giving them another opportunity to experience the world of collegiate dance.

The dancers who attended were:

  • Leeah Bates

  • Layla Buckner

  • Layna Rice

  • Elle Lisic

  • Paisley Nester

  • Eloise Burgin

  • Kaleesta Lowery

The College Combine is an exciting opportunity for aspiring collegiate dancers to learn more about college dance programs and connect with coaches and dancers from across the country.

Ohio State Dance Intensive

Elle Lisic also took her training to Columbus, Ohio, where she attended the Ohio State Dance Intensive.

Traveling to train with different programs and instructors exposes dancers to new teaching styles, choreography, techniques, and expectations. It also encourages dancers to step outside of their comfort zones and become more confident, versatile performers.

We are especially proud to see Elle seeking out opportunities to continue developing her skills and learn more about collegiate dance.

UC Stars Dancers Featured on Good Morning Cookeville

Our dancers recently had the opportunity to share their experiences with the local community during an interview with Jason and Sheila on Good Morning Cookeville.

They discussed their experiences attending college dance clinics and intensives this summer, what they learned, and what these opportunities mean for their future as dancers.

We love seeing our dancers not only work toward their goals but also share their experiences with other young dancers who may dream of dancing in college one day.

Preparing Dancers for Their Future

At UC Stars Dance, we want our dancers to understand that competitive dance is about more than trophies, titles, and competition weekends. It's about building the skills, confidence, discipline, and work ethic that dancers can carry with them into their future.

For dancers who want to pursue dance in college, preparation starts long before the college audition.

Dancers need strong technical foundations, performance experience, versatility, confidence, musicality, strength, flexibility, and the ability to learn choreography quickly. Just as importantly, they need the discipline to consistently train and the confidence to walk into a room full of talented dancers and give their best.

That's why we encourage our Competition Company dancers to take advantage of opportunities like college dance clinics, intensives, conventions, and collegiate training experiences.

Every class, competition, convention, audition, and clinic is another opportunity to grow.

Your Dancer's Future Starts Here

If your dancer dreams of dancing in college, making a college dance team, pursuing dance after high school, or simply becoming the strongest dancer they can be, finding the right training environment matters.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication our dancers demonstrated this summer. Watching them seek out opportunities, travel to train with college programs, challenge themselves, and begin preparing for their futures is exactly why we do what we do.

We believe your dancer's future is worth preparing for — and we are proud to help them take the next step.
